Topological modules over strictly minimal topological rings
We study the validity of two basic results of the classical theory of topological vector spaces in the context of topological modules.
متن کاملThe Invariant Variational Bicomplex
We establish a group-invariant version of the variational bicomplex that is based on a general moving frame construction. The main application is an explicit group-invariant formula for the Euler-Lagrange equations of an invariant variational problem.
متن کاملOn ∗-autonomous Categories of Topological Modules
Let R be a commutative ring whose complete ring of quotients is Rinjective. We show that the category of topological R-modules contains a full subcategory that is ∗-autonomous using R itself as dualizing object. In order to do this, we develop a new variation on the category chu(D, R), where D is the category of discrete R-modules: the high wide subcategory, which we show equivalent to the cate...
متن کاملFree Modules over Cartesian Closed Topological Categories
The construction of free R-modules over a cartesian closed topological category X is detailed (where R is a ring object in X), and it is shown that the insertion of generators is an embedding. This result extends the well-known construction of free groups, and more generally of free algebras over a cartesian closed topological category.
متن کاملClifford modules and symmetries of topological insulators
We complete the classification of symmetry constraints on gapped quadratic fermion hamiltonians proposed by Kitaev. The symmetry group is supposed compact and can include arbitrary unitary or antiunitary operators in the Fock space that conserve the algebra of quadratic observables. We analyze the multiplicity spaces of real irreducible representations of unitary symmetries in the Nambu space. ...
